Huang Jian’s new work ＂Fire Guard＂ pays tribute to firefighters in the new era

On Nov. 13, on the occasion of the first fire publicity month after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, a fire art exhibition with the theme of "Fire Guard: Saluting Firefighters in the New Era" was held in Beijing’s Songzhuang Art District. On display is the large-scale installation art work "Fire Guard" created by the famous sculptor Huang Jian at the invitation of the fire department.

　　It is reported that the sculpture work of "Fire Guard" was exhibited at the "2022 National Fire Protection Merchandise Exhibition" and became a highlight of the exhibition, which was well received by firefighters.

　　Huang Jian introduced: I am very honored to be invited to participate in the 2022 National Fire Protection Merchandise Exhibition, which gives me the opportunity to learn and pay tribute to the people’s defenders in peacetime. I accepted this creative task on October 2. With great respect for the fire rescue workers, after more than 20 days and nights of hard work, I finally completed this 3.8-meter-high installation art work "Fire Guard", which integrates sculpture art and high-tech special effects. Here, I would like to express my special thanks to my friends who fought with me.

　　"Fire Guard" uses the emblem of the Chinese fire rescue team as a creative element to create a glorious image of a young, high-spirited, heroic and vigorous fire rescuer in the new era:

　　Like an eagle spreading its wings, holding its axes high, the water gun soaring into the sky, the team emblem shining like a shield, the party emblem and 119, fully demonstrating the firefighters’ loyalty to the party, strict discipline, going through fire and water, and dedication to the people; at their feet is the land of China surrounded by olive branches, symbolizing that firefighters guard the safety of the motherland day and night, and are strong guardians of the safety of people’s lives and property!

　　The main body of "Fire Guard" is fire red, the background is flame blue, the base adopts high-tech simulated fire, and the top is spewing water. Red and blue, fire and water, art and technology complement each other, playing a heroic hymn of fire rescue in the new era, which will become the spiritual symbol and artistic symbol of China’s fire rescue.
