Push SX5／SX7 and other models, Dongfeng popular new product planning

After the listing event, Yao Liwen, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd., said in communication with the media that 2017 will be a big year for products. In the next two years, Dongfeng Fengxing’s existing products will be fully replaced, and new products such as Fengxing SX5 and Fengxing SX7 will be launched. The new base of Dongfeng Fengxing will also be officially put into production at the end of 2016, when the annual production capacity of Dongfeng Fengxing passenger cars will reach 400,000 units/year.

● Dongfeng Fengxing new model plan

　　2017 will be a big year for Dongfeng Fengxing’s products. In the next two years, Dongfeng Fengxing’s existing SUV, MPV and sedan products will be fully updated to form a family product structure. In terms of SUV models, the launch of the Fengxing SX6 kicks off the product layout of Dongfeng Fengxing. The new compact SUV Fengxing SX5 launched at the end of this year and the new mid-sized SUV Fengxing SX7 launched at the end of 2017 will together with the existing Jingyi X3, X5 and XV models form a clearer and more complete Dongfeng Fengxing SUV product system.

　 ★　Popular SX5: Guangzhou Auto Show debut

　　The Fengxing SX5 new car is positioned as a compact SUV. It will be officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2016 and is expected to go on sale in early 2017. From the previously exposed spy photos, the new car adopts a new headlight design. Since the car is much shorter than the Fengxing SX6, the overall body ratio is more SUV styling characteristics. In terms of power, the Fengxing SX5 is expected to be equipped with the same 1.6L and 2.0L naturally aspirated as the Fengxing SX6, and the transmission system is matched with a 5-speed manual or gearbox.

　★ New Lingzhi: Debut in August

　　The new Lingzhi will be officially unveiled in August 2016. The new car has been adjusted to the appearance and interior, with new headlights and multiple chrome-plated decorations to make the appearance of the new car more fashionable. Inside the car, a new interior layout and color scheme are used. The combination of black, brown and beige makes the whole interior look more classy, and is equipped with a central control large screen. In terms of power, the new Lingzhi will be equipped with a 2.0L engine derived from PSA. This engine was previously installed on and other models. It is expected that the power will be improved to a certain extent.

　　★ New Jingyi S50: Launched at the end of the year

　　Dongfeng Fengxing’s new Jingyi S50 will be officially launched at the end of this year. From the previously exposed spy photos, the new model is basically the same in appearance as the current Jingyi S50, and the overall interior layout has not changed significantly. However, we can find that it is equipped with electronic modules and a six-speed (current model is a 5-speed manual transmission). We will continue to pay attention to whether there are any adjustments in power.

The second phase of the new passenger car base will be put into operation at the end of the year

　　According to the plan announced by Dongfeng Fengxing at the beginning of the year, the second phase of the new base of Dongfeng Liuqi passenger car will be completed and put into production around November this year. By 2017, the annual production capacity of Dongfeng Liuqi is expected to increase to 500,000 vehicles (including about 400,000 passenger cars and about 8-100,000 commercial vehicles). The addition of new production capacity can provide strong support for the upgrading of the whole line of products and avoid the situation of insufficient production capacity due to rapid sales growth.

● Engine technology and energy saving and emission reduction technology　

　　Thanks to the help of PSA technology, Dongfeng Liuqi’s 2.0L engine has been successfully applied to Jingyi S50, Fengxing SX6 and other models. In the future, the new SUV SX5, the new Lingzhi and other models will be equipped with this engine. In addition, in terms of power, the new mid-sized SUV SX7 and the new CM7 are expected to be equipped with 1.8T and 2.0T engines.　

　　When talking about how to deal with stricter national standards on fuel consumption limits for passenger cars, Yao Liwen said that in terms of energy saving and emission reduction of products, Dongfeng Fengxing has invested corresponding R & D resources in light hybrid technology, energy recovery technology, automatic engine start-stop and the latest 48V electrical system and other technical fields, and will make further efforts in new models in the future.
