When it comes to full-size large SUVs, the only ones that can be recognized and respected by people are Cadillac and Lincoln. Among them, the latest Escalade has not really been introduced into the domestic market, and the Lincoln Navigator has a price of millions of yuan, so for the average family, these two cars are actually very out of reach.
However, with the official introduction of Chevrolet’s TAHOE car series to the domestic market, we can finally buy such a large SUV with a size and aura at a price 350,000 cheaper than Lincoln Navigator. Can Chevrolet TAHOE Tahoe, which has just entered the domestic market, buy it? Let’s briefly analyze it.
Let’s talk about the price first. TAHOE Tahoe’s guide price is 648,000 and 728,000, divided into two versions: classic version and highland version. Let’s take the classic version as an example. When comparing the Lincoln Navigator’s 2024 3.5T blue and silver version (the lowest), the price alone is already cheaper than 350,000. So this price is obviously able to enter the eyes of many consumers who like full-size large SUVs.
Of course, the reason why the Lincoln Navigator has to be sold to the million-dollar level is that, in addition to the attributes of its own luxury car, it is also equipped with a 3.5T V6 twin-turbo engine with 415 horsepower output.
On the other hand, TAHOE Tahoe, which has just entered the domestic market, is equipped with a 303-horsepower 2.7T single-turbo engine, so if you value the experience of power performance, then TAHOE Tahoe is certainly not as fast as a navigator in terms of driving and acceleration. This should be noted.
However, spending more than 350,000 less than the Lincoln Navigator can buy a full-size SUV with such a domineering appearance. Personally, I feel that if it is a user who really likes this kind of car, they will want to buy it.
After all, in terms of size, the TAHOE Tahoe has a length, width and height of 5382/2058/1940mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 3071mm. Compared with the Lincoln Navigator, it has more advantages in terms of length and height.
In addition, TAHOE Tahoe is also a 5-door, 7-seat layout, with a fuel tank capacity of 91L, which is similar to the Lincoln Navigator.
It is also worth mentioning that TAHOE Tahoe’s trunk capacity can reach 722-3480L. In contrast, the Lincoln Navigator’s trunk capacity is only 343-2479L. Therefore, if you usually use a lot of trunk, TAHOE Tahoe will have an advantage in this regard.
Secondly, in terms of configuration, don’t look at TAHOE Tahoe as just an ordinary imported SUV, but it gives us a lot. For example, in off-road configuration, it is equipped with a time-sharing four-wheel drive system, central differential lock and rear axle, as well as air suspension, electromagnetic induction suspension and towing mode.
For example, in terms of active safety, it is also equipped with a full set of active safety systems, such as DOW door opening warning, rear collision warning, moving object warning, built-in Baidu map, automatic parking entry, automatic lane change assistance, high-speed section automatic driving assistance and other functions, which are not available in the higher-priced Lincoln Navigator Blue Silver Edition. So, even though TAHOE Tahoe is so much cheaper than Navigator, its real person configuration is not bad at all.
If you really want to talk about it, I think TAHOE Tahoe is only equipped with the heating function of the front and rear seats, rather than the standard heating/ventilation/massage of the front and rear seats like the Lincoln Navigator. You know, seat heating works well in the cold north, but in our southern region, the demand for seat ventilation is actually higher. So if it can be selected later, I think it will also be a reflection of the manufacturer’s flexible adjustment according to the characteristics of the region.
Finally, from the perspective of product positioning, although TAHOE Tahoe has good off-road capabilities, its main focus is definitely comfort and luxury. Compared with the Lincoln Navigator, which is much more expensive, I think TAHOE Tahoe is tougher in appearance, more practical, and has excellent cost performance. It is foreseeable that even if this car is imported and sold for more than 600,000, it will only become a new choice for travel in the mid-to-high-end market.
After all, not everyone can prepare a budget of more than 600,000 yuan to buy a car. Even if they really have this idea, they may also look at models at the same price.
