The proportion of coal consumption has dropped to about 57.5% this year.
Beijing, 23rd June (Reporter Ding Yiting) The Guiding Opinions on Energy Work in 2020 recently issued by the National Energy Administration proposes that the total energy consumption in China will not exceed 5 billion tons of standard coal in 2020, and the proportion of coal consumption will drop to about 57.5%. In addition, the installed capacity of non-fossil energy power generation has reached about 900 million kilowatts, and the newly added electric energy has replaced about 150 billion kilowatt hours, accounting for about 27% of the terminal energy consumption.
Electric energy substitution is an energy consumption mode that uses electric energy to replace loose burning coal and fuel oil in the terminal energy consumption link, such as electric heating, electric cars, and the use of shore power by ships berthing at port. This year, about 150 billion kWh of new electricity will replace electricity, which is equivalent to the total electricity consumption of Guizhou Province in 2019.
According to the person in charge of China Electric Power Enterprise Federation, the proportion of electric energy in terminal energy consumption (the proportion of terminal electricity consumption) is one of the important indicators to measure the level of electrification development. According to estimates, the efficiency of electricity in creating economic value in the terminal field is 3.2 times that of oil and 17.3 times that of coal. In recent years, electric energy substitution has developed rapidly in the fields of transportation, industrial process and residents’ life. The data shows that from 2016 to 2018, the annual alternative electricity consumption was 1,079,128.6 and 155.8 billion kWh respectively. In 2018, China’s terminal electricity consumption accounted for 25.5%, which was higher than the world average and basically the same as that of developed countries.
The relevant person in charge of the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation believes that the continuous upgrading of intelligent manufacturing in the industrial field and the transformation of traditional industries, and emerging industries such as high-tech and equipment manufacturing and modern service industries will become the main driving forces for the future growth of electricity consumption. The person in charge suggested that to comprehensively improve the level of electrification, we should vigorously implement electric energy substitution, strengthen the guidance of electric energy substitution policies, improve relevant incentive policies, support the research and development of qualified electric energy substitution technologies and the implementation of electric energy substitution projects, and promote the diversified development of electric energy substitution models. For example, in the field of electricity consumption for urban and rural residents, efforts should be made to clean and heat the northern region, household appliances should be further popularized, rural power grid support capacity should be improved, and rural electrification level should be promoted.
According to the Guiding Opinions on Energy Work in 2020, about 1.5 billion square meters of clean heating area will be added this year, and energy poverty alleviation projects such as photovoltaic poverty alleviation will continue to advance, completing the transformation and upgrading of rural power grids in "three districts and three states" and border villages. At the same time, the efficiency of energy system and the utilization rate of clean energy such as wind power and photovoltaic power generation have been further improved. The qualified coal-fired generating units in the western region will complete the ultra-low emission transformation before the end of the year.
